We arrived in Grand Rivers, Ky yesterday at around 5 PM.  We left Tabor City at around 5am, and had a good drive to Grand Rivers.  We stopped often, including a stop for ice cream.  The drive went without incident and we enjoyed the beauty of the Fall colors.

We found Lil’ David in good condition.  The spiders did not enter the living ares, and there were very few spiders on the outside.  The batteries were still fully charged, the freezer was still frozen with no evidence of having thawed.  All systems were in good condition, with no surprises or concerns.  High winds were experienced while we were gone.  The dock lines showed evidence of the strains placed on them; they were very difficult to untie.

Today, We moved the boats from the storage docks to the transient docks.  Hearing the distinctive sound of the Detroits was sweet music.  We are really back home now, and very glad to be here.

We spent most of the day cleaning and unpacking.   The spiders made a mess on the fwd deck and on the flybridge.  We also cleaned the ”moustache” from the bow, and cleaned the hull exterior to remove the stains from the river water.

We had dinner with Bill and Mary Anne.  A good time was had by all, especially Kilby who seemed to be very happy to see Us.  We were very happy to meet our friends again.

Tomorrow, we will continue to clean and perform boat chores.  Lois and Judy are planning a trip to Paducah to visit the Wal-Mart there to buy groceries.  We will stay here until Tuesday, and then continue our travels down the Tennessee River toward Mobile, Al.  We need the time to get back in the boating frame of mind, and get acostomed to the slower pace.
